EIE392 Squad Ops

Location: Eielson Airforce Base, Alaska
Owner: United States Army Corps of Engineers
Services: Design-Build
Value: $6.5M
Completed: 2019

Osborne was selected as the Design-Build contractor to renovate the Squad Ops building, which included high-security work areas. Construction involved removing nearly all interior walls to accommodate a total reconfiguration–repurposing two existing concrete vaults, and structural upgrades for seismic compliance. Blast-resistant glass, new interior doors, alarm, data, communications, and CCTV contributed to the building’s advanced security system. Interior features included impact-resistant gypsum wallboard and corridor wall guards, custom casework, gear lockers in the pilot locker room, and stadium seating for the Squad Briefing room. Existing utility lines to the building were removed from the utilidor and new utility lines were installed along with all-new HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler/alarm, and electrical systems. The Squad Ops building was the first LEED Silver Certified F-35 project constructed at Eielson Airforce Base.
